dr. reckefuss Similar to the album "Velocities of Hue" it is timbre, narrative arc and stilistic ambiguity/transcendence that captivate me from the first moment. Good solo guitar recordings are almost as rare as flying vehicles crossing the Karman line without rocket/chemical propulsion. In my humble opinion, this is such a recording: wonderful! Favorite track: Turbopause.

The "Kármán line" is both an abstract construct and a geopolitical definition created to delineate the upper border of Earth's atmosphere and the beginning of "outer space". These new compositions by Elliott Sharp extend the abstraction to manifest a series of sonic meditations on this zone and the vectors representing the physical forces present there.

Kármán Lines was performed on a Godin Duet Multiac electroacoustic guitar modified with a fretless neck and tuned in the baritone range. Sharp uses a selection of extended techniques as well as the EBow but no other preparations or objects.
