Lennart Ståhle I found the LP many years ago in a small recordstore in Sweden. I was so thrilled about the find and is still thrilled about the music. Definitely one of my fav E# releases.

about

A document of Elliott Sharp's wide-ranging work in the early 1980's, (t)here presents live and studio recordings from concerts in Prague and New York City. Recorded during 1983, this rare album was first released on LP in 1984 on Sharp's zOaR label and has long been out-of-print. Included are two live pieces from Sharp's ongoing collaboration with turntable and conceptual artist Christian Marclay, studio trios with innovators Charles K. Noyes and Lesli Dalaba, and finally, tracks both solo and with V-Effect drummer Rick Brown recorded at an underground concert in Prague. Throughout, Sharp plays his fretless Stratocaster, electrified bass clarinet, and soprano sax.

The artwork for (t)here was created by Marie Pilar and incorporates a photocopy of a portion of an unknown child's drawing from the Auschwitz death camp from a book obtained by Sharp at an exhibition of these drawings at the AltNeu Synagogue in Prague.
