about

Elliott Sharp - Trilogy is a triple-CD set that Includes the albums “In The Land Of The Yahoos”, “Beneath The Valley Of The Ultra-Yahoos”, and “Radio Hyper-Yahoo”

E# and company redefine Americana in this wide-ranging and hard-hitting program of songs and rants inspired by Jonathan Swift's pungent and timeless "Gulliver's Travels." Trilogy comprises the three albums of this series, first appearing in 1986 on the SST label with “In The Land Of The Yahoos”, continuing in 1992 on Silent with “Beneath The Valley Of The Ultra-Yahoos”, and concluding in 2004 with “Radio Hyper-Yahoo” on zOaR. The stellar cast of speakers and singers include Steve Buscemi, Eric Bogosian, Tracie Morris, Eric Mingus, Maggie Estep, Edwin Torres, Eszter Balint, Jack Womack, Lisa Lowell, Steve Piccolo, Alva Rogers, Sussan Deihim, Shelley Hirsch, KJ Grant, Eugene Chadbourne, Barbara Barg, Christoph Anders, Elizabeth Fischer, and Victor Poison-Tete. Musical guests include Christian Marclay, Gaku Sato, and Eugene Chadbourne. Underpinning all of the words are music tracks composed and performed by Sharp ranging from brutal electro beats and future-funk, stark soundscapes with cinematic sweep, rootsy steel-guitar driven rock, psychedelic surf, and crunching industrial sounds. Sharp uses any and all instruments ranging from guitars, basses, saxophones, zither and banjo to computers, digital processers, analog synthesizers, drum machines, and hacked speak-n-spell's.
